I am not new to blogging, I had a blog way back when social media didn’t connect us in the way it does now. Way back when smart phones didn't have cameras. I used my blog as a way to allow my family and friends to keep tabs on my travels and update them on all the things that I was doing as I explored countries far from home.
Since my blog days, I am doing VERY different things and have found myself missing my writing outlet. Instagram and Facebook just aren’t the same. Though I considered having a blog for my business, the thought made me cringe a little. The idea of circling through the same old articles as a way to keep my website current and my SEO relevant is so far from my heart work and it just didn’t appeal. Then I remembered that I didn't have to use my blog as a mindless tool to increase my SEO but in fact, I could maybe enjoy doing it how I want to.
So, instead I have decided to have my blog be a way to unload some of my thoughts about what I do as a Birthworker, about how my life is impacted in both positive and challenging ways as a result of what I do for a living. This space will be a mixture of education around physiological birth, decolonizing birthing spaces, prenatal and infant care and everything in between. So, if you are following along and have any burning questions about what I do or how I do it, please comment below and I can answer your curiosities in a future post. Chat Soon, Elise
